Bridgehouse Museum Season Opening

Join Friends as we kick off our McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum's ninth season on May 10. Come discover the river's wonders inside the landmark five-story bridge tower  and try to catch the scheduled Bridge Lift at 11 a.m.. Opening Day admission will be free in honor of Chicago River Day. 

Friends’ Bridgehouse Museum celebrates the Chicago River and its world-famous movable bridges and is the only bridgehouse open to the public. On Bridge Lift days, the massive  gears inside the museum come to life to lift the bridge out of the way of passing boats.

Museum hours are Thursday – Monday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., through October 31. The museum will open on select Wednesdays in spring and fall  for bridge lift viewings only. General admission is free for Friends of the Chicago River members, $5 or less for non-members. Bridge lift tickets are $10 and Friends members receive a $3 discount. www.bridgehousemuseum.org
