There's Still Sewage

Efforts to curtail CSOs to the river system have had a huge impact which can be measured by species of fish  (up from seven species in the 1970s to over 70 now) but some CSO permits are not strict or detailed enough.  To keep the public informed the MWRD recently created a website that houses information about water quality including water quality, fish monitoring, and dissolved oxygen data. Friends and our partner organizations are working to update and advance permits.
